The sensor overview page gives you a quick and easy way to view and modify all of the sensors under your control. This includes data on all Applications, SCInterface Controllers (SCs), and SCInterface Control Managers (SCMs).
If logging in for the first time and 'status' is set to on, the list of sensors will be displayed with the status showing off for each of the applications. Once the status is obtained, the interface will refresh in real-time and show the status of all applications on your network.
If enabled, the latest news for this SCInterface network will be displayed at the top of the page. Otherwise, directly below this an overview of the content on this page:
Status: The icon depicts whether the device is Running, Stopped, Disabled, or Locked/Not Available. The Sensor Status key to the top of the main table lists what each icon represents.
Admin: If permissions are given to administer a particular sensor, a red button will appear to indicate that this sensor or SC can be administered by you.
Sensor: The name of the device is also a link to the configuration page for that device. If the device is Locked or Not Available, the link is disabled and you may not view or modify that device.
Type: Describes the classification of the device (Application, SC, or SCM). By default, the table lists devices of any type; however, you may view all the devices of a single type (example: the list of all SCs) by choosing that type from the dropdown box at the top of this column.
Platform: An icon depicts what platform that device runs on. For instance, a penguin means Linux sensor; a Windows banner means Windows sensor. Hovering over icon will indicate the type of sensor that this device is running.
Action: If a device is not locked, then you may start or stop it. Buttons in this column allow you to quickly perform the desired action. Devices may also be started and stopped in groups (see "Performing Group Operations" below).
Checkbox(): Checking boxes in this column marks devices for a group operation you would like to perform, such as viewing details, starting, stopping, or configuring. To quickly check all boxes in the column, click the checkbox in the column header.
Performing Group Operations
You may perform an action on multiple sensors at once. To do this:
Click the checkbox in the table for each sensor you would like to work on.
Click any of the action buttons above or below the sensor table (View Details, Start, or Stop).
If a sensor is disabled or locked, it will not be available for group operations.
Note: If working from the Tree View, clicking the checkbox in the table header (to select or deselect all sensors) will include sensors that may be hidden under a collapsed tree. To check that you have included only the sensors you want, expand the tree view for any collapsed SCs.
Specifying the Sensor View
There are multiple ways to specify the sensors to list on the Global Overview page. You may specify a Tree View or Classic View, or a list of SCMs, SCs, or Applications. You may narrow the display further to include all sensors that have a specified status.
Listing Sensors By Status
You must have "Showing Status" enabled to take advantage of status-filtered lists. To view a list of sensors by Status, click the appropriate tab above the overview table. The default choice is "All", but you may select to view only sensors which are Running, Stopped, Disabled, or Locked/Not Available. Displaying sensors by status may be done in conjuntion with any of the listing options described below.
List all sensors via Tree View (a hierarchy of sensors, where Applications are listed under the SCs which control them).
Listing Sensors By Type
To view a list of sensors of a particular type or to specify a list style (Classic or Tree View), use the drop down selection box at the top of the overview table. You may:
Tree View (default) - List all sensors via Tree View by displaying them in a hierarchy of sensors, where applications are listed under the SCs which control them.
Classic View - List all Applications, SCs, or SCMs with Classic View by displaying them in an alphabetical list with Applications first, then SCs, then SCMs.
Location View - List all Applications, SCs, or SCMs with Location View by displaying them in a view similar to the tree view; however, the list with Applications, SCs and SCMs are originized according to their location.
