An SC Credit allows a user to own and run an SController. When an organization buys a SCInterface license, they purchase a certain number of SC Credits (or an 'unlimited' amount). System administrators may assign SC Credits to users any way they wish. You must have User-Wide and SCM-Wide privileges to assign and revoke SC Credits for other users.

For each SC Credit a user has, he or she may own one enabled SC. Disabled SCs do not count against the SC Credit total, so a user could keep disabled SCs to swap in when needed. Once an SC is enabled, it counts against the SC Credit total. Users keeping additional disabled SCs may want to disable an enabled SC before they enable another SC, to avoid getting an error for going over their SC Credit limit.

For users with SC-Wide and User-Wide privileges, SC Credits may be administered in three places: 1) on the User Edit page for a single user, 2) from the SC Credits page in the User Admin area, and 3) from the SC Credits page in the SC Admin area.

To administrate SC Credits for all users:

  1. Click the Admin tab.
  2. You're now in the Users Admin area.
  3. Click the SC Credits tab.
  4. You will see a list of users and their SC Credit totals. Above this list is the total number of SC Credits you have to distribute.
  5. To edit the number of SC Credits available to a user, click the dropdown box to the right of that user. You can assign any number from zero to the total number of SC Credits available. If you have a limited number available, make sure not to grant too many or an error will be returned.
  6. Click the Modify SC Credits button. A message line will display showing the status of your request.
